Wine Tour Shuttle Group Excursion – $119 per person
Experience an intimate, yet social and lighthearted way to see and taste the Bay Area’s best wineries. We recommend first and foremost Platypus Tours! The Inn on First guests are picked up between 10:15 and 10:30, and returned to the inn around 5PM. In between you’ll visit four to five boutique wineries with 10 to 12 others, enjoy a Platypus-crafted deli lunch (usually outside at one of your stops, weather permitting), as well as snacks and water served on board. It’s a great way to see the valley and perhaps make new friends as well! We will be happy to make a reservation for you.
Coffee Excursion: Create your own blend – $95 per couple
A coffee tasting is a great way for guests to understand and experience the differences between single varietal coffees, roasts and blends. After a short educational slideshow about coffee, guests will indulge in five French-pressed coffees. We will provide single varietals from three different growing regions: The Americas (Guatemala, Mexico, or Colombia), Africa (Ethiopia), and Indonesia (Sumatra or Papua New Guinea), and then identify and discuss the flavor and aromatic characteristics unique to each region.
Guests will then experience the strength of a French Roast, and then comprehend the coffee blend process by tasting a blend comprised of a one third, one third, one third combination of coffees from the three previously tasted growing regions. The guests will also be encouraged to craft their own blend by mixing the coffees as they wish. Each guest will then finish the tasting by receiving a 12 oz. bag of coffee based upon their favorite tasted coffee.
The cost is $95 per couple, and $15 for each additional person, up to a maximum of eight people.
